THE RISE OF THE EBIKE
The future of e-bikes is a rapidly changing and promising one enhanced by the host of benefits they provide, whether more people are becoming socially aware or simply looking for a healthier alternative to more traditional transport, this global spike has been an encouraging step in the right direction. Not only are they a viable transport option for those of all ages and levels of fitness looking for urban mobility, they are also a perfect and much more immersive mode of transport when venturing into rural enclaves to get that piece of nature found lacking in the bustling towns and cities. This allure has certainly not gone unnoticed, and while China may hold 85% of ebike sales globally, the staggering 52% rise year on year for the UK and EU since 2020 are also key examples when taking a glimpse at the global interest and rise in e-mobility.
From our experience at Hasha Ibiza, we find more and more people who aren't inherently into cycling coming to us to experience the ebiking firsthand. This includes people from all walks of life looking for a fun and different way to enjoy the lush nature, captivating beaches and tempting ice cream shops along the seafront. Many have stated that the bikes provided incredible sites and allowed them to experience the beauty of Ibiza in a unique and unforgettable experience. This is incomparable to exploration via other means of transport, unable to go off-road down paths to hidden landmarks and other beautiful and worthwhile scenes, or along busier areas where you can easily stop, lock up your e-bike and grab some well-deserved food or drink.
Due to electric bikes being zero-emission vehicles, e-bikes have revolutionised the transport sector in light of the increased pressure from pollution and rapid global warming. Ebiking is the perfect holiday activity, that is fun, healthy, stylish and sustainable. We recognise there is still a long way to go with the production of the energy used to power ebikes and over the coming months and years we are striving to do better, with the target of charging all of our ebikes solely from renewable energy by the end of 2023.
